Hello Diamondbacks ! Welcome to Fifth Grade! I am looking forward to an exciting, productive year of working with you and your children. This year, our class will be exploring many different topics, from writing and expressing ideas through journals, notes, and e-mail to completing more complex assignments that ask them to use sources to inform their oral and written discussions of topics . In Social Studies, we will be study United States history and Geography beginning with the Colonial Era and continue to the present. Students will also identify the elements of a personal budget and explain why personal spending and saving decisions are important through our Classroom Economy. We will be reading, Writing and working on projects throughout the school year. Students will also be keeping reading logs of their daily reading. I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through Emails, Weekly progress reports, notes, telephone calls, report cards, Student led conferences,and parent teacher conferences. You are welcome to visit our classroom at any time. I can always use an extra pair of hands and another smiling face when I am working with the students.
